Maqam (Mindful and quantum acquisitions modeling) is an architectural design and property development company. We use cutting edge technology to increase the social, environmental, and economic value of places around the world. From urban to rural, the contexts we work in are diverse; yet all in a state of transformation. As experts of the built environment, we conceptualize and deliver architecture that celebrates and enhances the particularities of the given context, while providing high returns for investors.

Maqam was founded by Karim Rouabah in 2024. Prior to this, Karim worked on several prestigious projects around the world for clients including Bulgari, Qatar National Bank and Beijng National Art Museum; and has collaborated with architecture firms including Fosters+Partners (London), BIG (Copenhagen) and SO-IL (New York). Working from concept to completion, he developed expertise in handling large and complex architectural data; from information about geometry and fabrication methods to energy performance and environmental science. He holds a masters in architecture from the University of Nottingham, where he currently teaches undergraduate ADS (Architectural Design Studio). He is also co-founder of the postgraduate ADS "MetaPolis" at Birmingham City University, which explores urban and building design in relation to emerging communication technology and the metaverse.
